Just a couple of weeks ago, UCI held their quarterly career fair around ring road. I went totally unprepared, not sure what to expect. Fortunately for me, I was able to learn many things about job searching during that day. The biggest thing that stood out to me was what an employer mentioned about personal domain names. Simply put, every resume has several bits of information regarding contact information. It's an unspoken necessity to include your name, phone number, permanent address, and email.
The next important contact information that will become commonplace is a personal domain linking to your own personal website. This will give the employer a chance to get a first hand glance at what you're made of. Your interests, hobbies, past experiences are a valuable asset for employers, especially in technology oriented jobs.
Several online sites selling a domain name of your choice include GoDaddy, Yahoo, Doteasy, and many more. Just scour the web for more locations.
