This article describes how to manually lock Windows XP for both Home and Professional versions. By far the easiest way to lock Windows XP is to hold the [Windows Logo key] and [L]. That will immediately bring up the Unlock Windows Password screen. Another method is to create a simple shortcut. To create a shortcut, right click on an empty part of the desktop hover your mouse over New and select Shortcut. Enter "rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation" and select finish. Those are the easiest two ways.
